Character's Canon History

At the young age of 15, Dr. William Birkin was recruited by Umbrella Corporation, a proclaimed “pharmaceuticals” company, to join their team of scientists working on the clandestine development of bio-organic weapons. Along with scientists Albert Wesker and James Marcus, Birkin was responsible for the discovery of the “T-Virus.” The virus is responsible for mutating its hosts and animating dead tissue. All hosts - human and animal - show increased aggressiveness, rage, and hunger.

Over the next decade, he continued his work with the T-Virus at the new Arklay Research Facility. During these years he married his assistant Annette and they eventually had a daughter, Sherry. In 1993, Birkin and his wife were transferred to an Underground Research Facility in Raccoon City specifically developed for the research of the newly discovered G-Virus which he continues to perfect.

Birkin is passionate about his research to a fault. Nothing comes before it. Unfortunately, not even his family. Intelligent, stubborn, ruthless, and fervent, Birkin is well equipped and doomed to let his obsession consume him.

Current Canon Timeline
Birkin is currently at the Underground Research Facility in Raccoon City trying to perfect the G Virus.
